Coastal erosion and storm tide inundation are naturally occurring processes that are referred to as coastal hazards since they can adversely affect essential infrastructure, foreshore developments and public safety. Coastal Hazard Assessments commonly define the extent of land expected to be threatened by coastal processes, erosion and/or inundation over specific planning periods. They are typically used for development assessment purposes and to inform land-use planning considerations. In particular such assessments include consideration of future sea level rise scenarios, typically to the year 2100.
Coastal Engineering Solutions has considerable expertise in undertaking Coastal Hazard Assessments and to date we have undertaken in excess of forty such assessments along the Victorian coastline alone.
